Readers should take advice from a qualified professional when dealing with specific situations. This newsletter could contain technical inaccuracies, and changes to the information contained herein may be made at any time. Readers want to know why they should bother reading the documents you produce, and they don?t want to wade through dense, unclear prose. Readers can easily become lost to the meaning of your words if too many words are used in one sentence. You certainly do not want to annoy, amuse or create a perception of being uneducated or unprofessional by not adhering to the proper use of English and proper grammar.

Students may, however, use any written composition aids (dictionaries, thesauri, synonym finders, etc.) to help in their composition, and will have opportunities to consult with the teacher for guidance. This provides the instructor with an opportunity to review a more authentic sample of the student’s formal writing ability, because the student will compose the letter independent of peer help. Student can also hand deliver the postcard if they wish. Students should not include thank you notes sent and received for gifts from friends or family.
